Lauren got her start in social media almost ten years ago at New Media Strategies, a pioneer in online brand intelligence and viral marketing based in Washington DC. There, Lauren worked as an Account Manager within both the Corporate and Entertainment Practices where she helped develop, manage and execute social media marketing campaigns for several Fortune 500 companies, movie and television studios.

Most recently, Lauren was the Executive Editor and Internet Strategist at BeThree.com, a social media platform delivering edgy content on healthy lifestyles to Gen X/Y women. Prior to focusing on social and online media, Lauren worked as a Marketing Associate at The Maritime Intelligence Group, helping to promote homeland security initiatives in maritime ports and educate top officials on the maritime terrorist threat. Her first stint in marketing began at The Advisory Board Company, a health care consulting firm located in Washington, DC.

Lauren is a contributor and trend-spotter for Buzzfeed.com, a site that tracks the web’s obsessions in real time. She also blogs for The Frisky and Ideal Bite and has recently been highlighted by both 5280 Magazine and Westword as a “Featured Tweeter” given her following and influence within the Colorado Twitter community. Lauren has also been interviewed on “That Social Media Show” on BlogTalk Radio, C21 Media, and by various Trade Publications seeking to learn more about the social media industry.

In her spare time, Lauren serves as Vice President and Co-Founder of The ProjectSpark Foundation, an organization inspiring action to defeat Parkinson’s Disease. And for a cocktail party trick, she illustrates her ability to speak Sanskrit…no joke.

Prior to founding Swarm Collective, Lindsay Yaw was the founder and CEO of BeThree.com, a multi-platform digital media company that created and distributed original daily content in the wellness space for Gen X/Y women using a variety of social media channels.

Lindsay began her tenure in digital media while working as the field dispatcher and writer on several national and international online media projects with some of the world’s most prolific web portals such as MSN and Yahoo.

At the same time, she was freelance writing full time and has been published in online and print publications such as Outside, National Geographic Adventure, Shape, Men’s Journal, Skiing, The Yoga Journal, EcoSalon.com, and many more, as well as on NPR for an in-depth story on the effects of hypothermia on avalanche burial victims.

Lindsay also has an extensive athletic background as a professional expedition skier. She is on K2 Skis T9 Alliance team where she designs and develops K2’s line of women’s skis; likes 24-Hour races on skis and bikes; and currently thinks Boulder is the coolest place in the world to live and love social media.
